This is a position with flex-time based on 40-hour work week, meaning not just your regular 8-5 M-F! This schedule adjusts frequently to meet needs of coverage for athletic teams covered, the ideal candidate will be just as adaptable!

Summary of Duties
Our ATC would operate under the direction of the Athletic Program. As an ATC you would be providing athletic training services to the local community, local area high schools, and local sports and recreation events. The ATC also works in conjunction with team physicians, physical therapists, coaches, parents, athletes and other health professionals to prevent, evaluate, treat and rehabilitate all sports related injuries. You may also find yourself providing assistance to physical therapists in various outpatient clinical settings, including following designated protocols and clinical procedures for documentation.
As an ATC you will be expected to promote Advanced Physical Therapy throughout the community and strive to achieve the goals and mission of APT in all daily responsibilities. Afternoon and evening hours are required. Weekend and some travel are required to provide field coverage.
Must be strong in communication skills with other health care providers, parents, coaches and athletes. Applicant should enjoy program development and be willing to assist with growth of sports population programs and offerings.

Minimum Qualifications Include:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training from a CATTE program.
Licensure: American Heart Association BLS CPR & AED for Healthcare Provider required. Alaska State License for Athletic Training (apply for license upon hire). Current NATA certification.
Training: Nationally certified by the NATABOC and in good standing.
Experience: At least one (1) year experience in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of sports related injuries and advanced application of therapeutic intervention.
Working Conditions: Work environment varies depending on athletic season. Time will be spent at practice/event coverage etc. for indoor and outdoor sports. Frequent bending, lifting, reaching are required, must be able to lift/push/pull at least 50 lbs. unassisted. Substantial amount of standing and walking are required.
