Mindy Sherwood graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Therapy in 1984 from Florida International University in Miami Florida. She has worked in a variety of settings and has lived in several states from South Carolina to Hawaii. Mindy moved to Fairbanks from Wrangell in Southeast Alaska. She lived in Wrangell for 5 years before relocating to Fairbanks. She considers herself a generalist practitioner with her primary experience coming from her outpatient orthopedic clinic work. Her favorite areas of treatment include shoulders, knees, ankles and hips. From the weekend warrior to the new total knee, her favorite patient usually has an extremity injury/sprain/strain or is post surgical.
Mindy has three children and five grandchildren who live from California to Florida. Being able to spend time with her grandchildren and kids are a blessing.
Her favorite outdoor activities are gardening, foraging for her own food and exploring nature on her electric bike. Her indoor activities including reading and quilting. There are always several projects on her desk.
Currently, Mindy is excited about the opportunity to discover all that Fairbanks has to offer.
